AI visibility measures how often and how prominently your brand appears in the answers that large language models generate for your target queries. Unlike a traditional search ranking — where your page either appears at position 3 or it doesn’t — AI-generated answers are prose, and your brand can be the first thing mentioned, buried in the third paragraph, or absent entirely. Linkstonic quantifies all of this: it tracks whether your brand is cited, where in the answer it surfaces, and how that changes over time across the four platforms that are reshaping how people find information.

Platforms Linkstonic tracks

Linkstonic monitors your brand across the four AI answer engines that account for the vast majority of AI-driven discovery today:
PlatformProviderAnswer style
ChatGPTOpenAIConversational; cites sources when browsing is enabled
ClaudeAnthropicAnalytical; strong at synthesizing multiple sources
GeminiGoogleTightly integrated with Google Search and Shopping
PerplexityPerplexity AIInline citations; research-oriented users
Each platform has different citation behavior, training data, and retrieval logic. A brand that scores well on Perplexity may be invisible on Gemini. Tracking all four gives you an accurate picture instead of a misleading average.

Two tools for two jobs

Linkstonic gives you two complementary tools depending on whether you need a deep audit or ongoing surveillance.

TrueTrace

Run a one-time deep audit of any URL, brand, or competitor. Get an LLM citability score, citation source list, FAQ gap analysis, and sentiment scoring across all four platforms.

AI Tracking

Set up continuous keyword monitoring. Linkstonic queries AI platforms on a schedule and records whether your brand appears, at what position band, and alongside which competitors.

Citability Score

Understand how your LLM citability score is calculated, what it signals, and which content improvements move it up fastest.

SearchMind

Connect AI visibility data with traditional SEO signals. See how your organic rankings and AI presence reinforce — or undermine — each other.

Key metrics

Mention rate is the percentage of queries for a given keyword where your brand appears in the AI-generated answer. A mention rate of 40% means your brand showed up in 4 out of every 10 answers Linkstonic sampled for that query. Position bands describe where in the answer your brand appears:
  • Top — your brand is among the first entities mentioned, typically in the opening sentence or first paragraph
  • Middle — your brand appears after one or more other brands have been introduced
  • Bottom — your brand is mentioned late in the answer, often in a comparison list or closing summary
AI visibility score is a composite metric that weights mention rate and position band across all tracked keywords and platforms. It is the number you optimize toward. Competitor overlap shows which other brands appear in the same AI answers as yours, and how often they outrank you by position band. This is the competitive intelligence layer that makes AI tracking more than a vanity metric.

Why AI visibility is different from SEO rankings

In classic SEO, ranking position is determined by Google’s algorithm and expressed as a discrete number. In AI-generated answers, there is no algorithm you can inspect, no canonical ranking signal, and no guarantee that the same query will produce the same answer twice. The content that AI models cite is determined by training data, retrieval-augmented generation, and the phrasing of each individual prompt. This means:
  • Your page can be perfectly indexed by Google and still be invisible to AI. Citability depends on content structure, depth, and E-E-A-T signals — not just crawlability.
  • Position matters differently. Being the fifth result on a Google SERP still gets clicks. Being the fifth brand mentioned in a ChatGPT answer often means your brand is invisible in practice — users rarely read that far.
  • Competitors you’ve never worried about may dominate AI answers because they publish more FAQ-structured, citation-friendly content.
Linkstonic is built to close that gap.
AI Tracking on the Starter plan is limited to two platforms: ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Gemini (Google). Tracking all four platforms — including Claude and Perplexity — requires a Pro or Agency plan. TrueTrace audits are available on all plans with per-run limits based on your plan tier.
