Internal linking is one of the most underutilized levers in technical SEO. Every internal link you add is a signal to search engines about which pages matter and how your site is structured. LinkMind analyzes the internal link graph collected during your Linkstonic SEO audits and translates it into actionable findings — orphan pages that crawlers cannot reach, deep pages starved of authority, and anchor text patterns that could be working harder for you.

What LinkMind analyzes

Orphan pages

An orphan page has no internal links pointing to it from any other page on your site. Search engine crawlers discover pages by following links — if no page links to a URL, crawlers may never find it, and even if they do index it, the page receives zero internal link equity. Orphan pages are common on sites that publish a lot of content without updating existing pages to reference new ones.

Deep pages

A deep page requires more than three clicks from your homepage to reach. The deeper a page sits in your site architecture, the less crawl attention and internal link equity it receives. Pages buried four, five, or more clicks deep are at a structural disadvantage regardless of how good the content is. Bringing them closer to the surface — by adding them to navigation, creating hub pages, or linking to them from popular pages — can improve both crawlability and rankings. This metric shows the mean number of internal links across all crawled pages. A very low average suggests that pages are isolated and not benefiting from each other’s authority. A healthy internal linking density varies by site size, but most pages on content-rich sites should link to at least five to ten related pages.

Anchor text distribution

For each of your important pages, LinkMind shows a breakdown of the anchor text used in the internal links pointing to it. Review this distribution to identify two common problems: over-optimization (too many links using the exact same keyword anchor, which can look manipulative) and generic anchors (links labeled “click here”, “read more”, or “learn more” that pass no topical signal to search engines). Both patterns represent missed opportunities to reinforce what a page is about.

Authority flow insights

LinkMind visualizes which pages are receiving the most internal link equity — the pages that many other pages link to — and which are authority-starved despite being important to your business. Use this view to intentionally redistribute internal links from your high-authority pages toward the pages you most want to rank.

How to use LinkMind

Run an SEO audit on your site

LinkMind data comes from the crawl performed during an SEO audit. Open SEO Audit in the left sidebar and run an audit on your homepage or the root of the section you want to analyze. Linkstonic crawls linked pages during the audit and collects the internal link graph.

Open LinkMind

Click LinkMind in the left sidebar. The dashboard loads with data from your most recent crawl.

Review orphan pages and prioritize fixes

Look at the orphan pages list. Sort by page importance or traffic potential to decide which pages to fix first. For each orphan page, identify one or two existing pages on your site that are topically related and add an internal link from those pages to the orphan.

Address deep pages

Review pages that require more than three clicks to reach. Consider adding links to these pages from your homepage, from a relevant category or hub page, or from your site navigation. Even a single link from a shallow, high-authority page can significantly improve a deep page’s crawl frequency and link equity.

Audit anchor text for key landing pages

Select your most important landing pages from the anchor text view. Check whether the distribution of anchors reflects the keywords you want those pages to rank for. Update internal links with more descriptive, keyword-relevant anchor text where generic anchors currently exist.
