Connecting Google Search Console unlocks Linkstonic’s most powerful organic search analytics. Once you authorize access, Linkstonic pulls your GSC data daily and surfaces it across SearchMind, Top Pages, and lag analysis — giving you a unified view of how your content performs in Google Search without ever leaving the platform.Documentation Index

What it enables
After you connect a GSC property, Linkstonic uses that data to power three core features:- SearchMind keyword position tracking — monitor where your keywords rank over time, with historical trend data so you can spot gains, drops, and seasonality at a glance.
- Top Pages analytics — see clicks, impressions, CTR, and average position for every page on your site, with filters by date range, directory path, and country.
- Lag analysis — Linkstonic cross-references GSC query and page combinations to surface internal linking opportunities, helping you connect high-impression pages to relevant existing content.
Prerequisites
Before you connect, make sure you have:- A Pro or Agency plan — GSC integration is not available on the Starter plan.
- Owner or Full User access to the Google Search Console property for your domain. Restricted User access is not sufficient to authorize the OAuth connection.
Linkstonic requests read-only access to your GSC data. It cannot make any changes to your Search Console property, submit sitemaps, or modify any settings on your behalf.
Connect via OAuth
Sign in with Google
A Google OAuth window opens. Sign in with the Google account that has Owner or Full User access to your GSC property.
Grant read-only permissions
Review the permissions Linkstonic requests — these are read-only scopes for Search Console data — and click Allow.
Select your GSC property
Choose the property you want to connect. Properties can be either domain-level (e.g.,
sc-domain:example.com) or URL-prefix (e.g., https://example.com/). Select the one that matches how your site is verified in GSC.Service account option
If your organization does not allow personal Google OAuth for third-party tools, Linkstonic supports connecting via a Google service account on the Agency plan. This method grants Linkstonic access using a dedicated service account email rather than an individual’s credentials — useful for agencies and teams where account ownership needs to stay separate from personal logins. Contact Linkstonic support to get setup instructions for the service account flow.Data sync details
Understanding what data Linkstonic can access helps you set accurate expectations for your reports:- GSC data syncs once per day, typically in the early morning (UTC).
- Google’s Search Console API provides up to 16 months of historical data, which Linkstonic imports on first connection.
- On the Pro plan, you can connect one GSC property per brand workspace. On the Agency plan, you can connect multiple properties per brand — useful when a client’s site uses separate GSC properties for subdomains or international versions.
Disconnecting and reconnecting
To remove the GSC connection, go to Settings → Integrations and click Disconnect next to Google Search Console. Disconnecting stops future syncs but does not delete any data Linkstonic has already imported — your historical keyword positions, Top Pages data, and lag analysis results are retained in your workspace. You can reconnect at any time by following the OAuth steps above. Linkstonic will resume syncing from the point of reconnection and backfill any data from the gap period that falls within Google’s 16-month window.Related
